Eminem at the 2022 Super Bowl. I’m Having ALL the Emotions.

Sunday night, February 13, 2022. I had hoped the matchup would include my beloved Buffalo Bills, and in my imagination they’d be playing Green Bay. A faceoff with the Packers would of course result in a jubilant triumph where the ever-unfortunate Buffalo squad would bring home the Lombardi Trophy to reside in its snowy home where I firmly believe it so rightly belongs.

Alas, thanks to that pesky game against the Chiefs a few weeks prior, such a matchup was not to be. My sadness was salved, however, when the halftime lineup was a sweet nod, featuring a great lineup. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem. To say that I was excited would be, well, yeah…an understatement.

I was over the moon when it was Prince. Heck, I wasn’t even all that disappointed when it was Maroon Five. But this lineup? See, these names are on all of my gym mixes. But more importantly, and you may find this odd, but informative, I used none other than Marshall Mathers as the poetry component of my English 102 (Freshman survey) course as a college English professor. So seeing this guy at the “big show” was pretty cool.

Eminem? Poetry class? You are dying to know, I get it.
