Hi Mike,

Thank you for your comment, but believe me, this is not a low point, or even close to a low point.

I can appreciate that you had a strained relationship with your family, for whatever reason. Can you perhaps appreciate that, as I wrote, "I will love him through these" even though I will watch from the sidelines, helpless to guide him toward another path?

That, Mike, is the role of parents and loved ones of alcoholics and other addicts. We love even through the pain, sorrowful, loving the person but not the behavior. It's why, as a writer, I choose 'relative silence,' not total silence. Because I deserve a chance to heal as well. Namaste.
