Irrelevant List of Things Rich People Don’t Buy
These Lists Are False and They Don’t Matter Anyway
I stumbled across another “list of things rich people don’t waste money on” today. And again, today, I enjoyed a laugh — both at the writer and the certain few hundred readers the article will produce.
Why?
Because much of the list is pure fantasy.
It’s a fictional list made up of items that a nearly-rich person put down on paper in order to make a not-so-rich person feel wise about how she doesn’t spend her money.
It’s useless.
Allow me.
Item number one on this list was the assertion that truly rich people do not buy fancy, luxury cars. The writer did not illuminate whether a “fancy, luxury car” is a Bentley or Lykan Hypersport, so I cannot vouch for what the author’s categorization for fancy is, but let me assure you, there are loads and loads of Mercedes, BMW, and Volvo drivers out there who would categorize themselves as steering a luxury-class vehicle. A step or ten above a Nissan or Mazda, even the ones with all the options, driving a Mercedes is not a super-stretch of a car.
So why do people making bank buy one if they aren’t the one percent? Lemme ‘splain. Buying a luxury class vehicle also comes with luxury class service. Cool…
