Michael, I would side with you completely if men and women shared custody 50-50 in all cases, and if men and women earned the same money in both situations, and were therefore able to equally financially support their mutual children.

I absolutely think (agree with you) that a deeper evaluation ought to be done to determine the best living arrangement for children, that perhaps children ought to be able to advocate more for themselves, but I'm a writer and not a social worker.

I'm glad you had a great father, and you are probably a great father yourself. And indeed there are better ways to align the dollars, no doubt. You'd make a great advocate.
