Stop Buying the Bullsh*t

First of all, let’s just put this out there: there’s no age limit on sex. Hugh Hefner was strolling around in his bathrobe in his nineties for crying out loud, and he was surrounded by girlfriends, bragging about his libido. Okay, it’s fair to say that some, maybe many, were into him because he had the mansion and the money, but all acknowledged having sex with the guy.

Why were there no women approaching Hef’s age? Simple. They were all busy having sex with much younger men. The men who don’t need a little blue pill to get the job done.

There, I said it.

Let me also just put it out there that there’s good, solid evidence that having sex at least once weekly is linked to living a longer life. Telomeres are those things at the very end of chromosomes, sections of DNA, and they offer protection. Having more sex is associated with having longer telomeres, and that essentially contributes to a longer lifespan. So yeah, the people who are more sexually active, by extension, are taking another spin at the wheel of longevity.

I partly jest here, but partly not. It’s true that as we get a bit older, we trend more toward relationships than toward one-night stands, but that’s not an altogether bad thing. Just because many of us are reluctant to jump in the sack for a one-off doesn’t mean…
