I Should Know, I’ve Been On a Ton of Dates Lately
It’s no secret. Some people are just naturally more attractive than others. I’m not talking about looks. Looks are great, but it doesn’t take that long to get past the outer layer and realize that someone with a good appearance is actually a terrible person. And it doesn’t take that long to see through a plain exterior into a genuinely attractive human, either.
So what’s the deal? What is it that makes us gravitate toward some humans, then? As far back as college, you can probably recall some people in your life who had a magnetic force that drew people to them, or maybe you are that person. There are habits and traits that these folks have in common, time and time again.
1. Authenticity.
It’s pretty easy to spot a faker, and it’s pretty great to enjoy someone who is true. Genuine people don’t feel the need to be something they aren’t, to hide behind layers of bragging or attention-seeking. These are the people who don’t finish off their emails with a list of credentials, who don’t tell you about their vacation home (until they offhandedly invite you to it). These are people who understand that they are not universally liked, and they are okay with that.
